    Why Pay More For Jeans?

Summary by P T Andrews, edited by Ferdinand Rinaldy

How on earth can jeans manufacfiretrap jeansturers justify the prices they charge for jeans these days? Up to £300 for one pair of fashion denims, that’s bloody extortionate!

Despite begrudging the prices being charged for jeans these days, I am a sucker for a pair of bootcut Diesels and I have to admit that it is worth paying the extra. I can’t vouch for all premiums jeans brands, but Diesel jeans look fantastic, fit perfectly, stay looking great for as long as you own them, never lose their shape and they look fantastic with anything. I’ve also owned a couple of pairs of Replay jeans that were of similar quality and they cost around £100 as well. Does that mean cheaper jeans are best avoided?

In an effort to keep up, companies like Topshop and River Island etc. have taken inspiration from the premium jeans brands in launching their own fashionable denims, and some of them are fantastic. Then you have brands like Gap, Firetrap jeans, Jack Jones, Levis and French Connection who sits somewhere in-between with prices around £60-£80. They all offer excellent quality jeans in very fashionable cuts and finishes.

So there’s plenty of choice out there, with jeans brands catering for all tastes and all budgets. If you want a little more exclusivity, a designer label and perhaps a little bit more detail then expect to pay over £100.
