Men’s Shirts – Fashion, Not Just Function

Summary by Adam Singleton, edited by Ferdinand Rinaldy

From the typical collarless shirts with billowing sleeves worn by classical painters to the modern formal button-down shirt, men’s shirts have captured the imaginations of both designers and ordinary men for generations.

One of the most important developments in men’s shirts over the last hundred years, for example, has been the invention of the polo shirt. The polo shirt, or ‘tennis shirt’, was created by legendary French tennis player Rene Lacoste in 1929 as an alternative to the stiff dress shirts and ties typical of tennis attire at the time.

The granddad shirt has also been a long lasting trend in men’s shirts in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. Today’s granddad shirt preys on bright colours and an ethno-bohemian vibe that appeals to a variety of men’s fashion trends – from festival clothing to smart casual summer wear.

The button-down shirt has also been one of the most influential men’s shirts in fashion history – but memories of how it was created tend to be somewhat hazy.

    Tips to Select Men’s Shirts

    Summary by Andis Bashod

    Dress for Occasion

The shirt is the most noticeable of the dress items. For example, if you are going for a job interview, it is better to select light colored and less extravagantly designed shirts. You have to select a color based on the color of your skin and make sure that the color of your shirt is in coordination with other dress items.

    Striped Vs. Solid

This is an eternal debate regarding men’s shirts. Some people prefer striped design shirts, while some others like solid colored ones. If somebody wants a striped design shirt, there is absolutely no problem in getting one. However, if you are planning to use the shirts for regular use, it is better to select solid color shirts. Striped design shirts certainly do not provide such a luxury. Only striped ties can be used with striped design shirts.

You need to figure out your shirt size. Some manufacturing companies making men’s shirts use the exact number to denote the shirt size.

Jeans for Boys – Versatile Fashionable Comfortable and Practical

Summary by Simon James Ward, edited by Ferdinand Rinaldy

The best solution to this problem is often to buy them jeans. The average American has 6 pairs of jeans in their wardrobe, which is almost a pair for each day of the week! Jeans go with everything and can be dressed down and casual or can be worn with smart shoes and a shirt for smart-casual occasions. Boys can also wear jeans for doing more practical, every day activities such as riding their bikes, skateboarding, rollerblading or even shooting some hoops! Jeans for boys are usually stone-washed which makes them feel and look worn out. Many boys choose to customize their jeans by cutting them and ripping them slightly, particularly around the knees. You can also buy sew on patches or iron on patches to put on jeans, again making them more individualized. Jeans are the perfect staple of any boy’s wardrobe, they are hard wearing, comfortable, reasonably priced and more importantly, they never go out of fashion and your boy will never look “so last century!”

    Dream Jeans Waiting For You

    Summary by Rick Hendershot

People still rely on their jeans for work, everyday casual wear, even high fashion. Farmers wear jeans. Miners wear jeans. Folks wear jeans to the office. You’ll even see jeans being worn with dinner jackets at the Academy Awards.

Early on, jean fabric was rugged and heavy and came in one color. Today jeans are manufactured in a myriad of blends. Jeans come in classic rise, low rise, extra low rise, slim leg, straight leg, boot style, flare and bell bottom. You’ll find jeans sold in women’s shops by name brand designers, complete with fancy stitching, beaded pockets, and sparkly belts. In some cases, jeans are washed dozens of times in water spiked with acid and stones. Invariably it’s the crisp, new, unblemished classic farm worker style jeans that are the most economical.

The wonderful world of name brand designer clothing awaits you on the web.

Diesel Jeans, Armani Jeans, Hugo Boss, Who’s the Best Jeans?

Summary by Darrell Freeman, edited by Ferdinand Rinaldy

Armani Jeans launched a whole new range of jeans for the summer season. Armani Jeans is one of the most popular makes of designer jeans in the UK and especially in London and the North West cities of Manchester and Liverpool. Surprisingly, the most popular Armani Jeans of the new season appear to be the J68 with the distinctive design on the back pockets of the jeans. The J68 jeans go against the normal bland Armani design with their bright logo and back pocket design. Hugo Boss have also brought out a few exciting ranges of designer jeans. The Hugo 677 jeans appear much different to the usual Hugo Boss designs such as the HB1 and HB2 jeans and the Texas range. G Star Raw has continued their innovative approach to designer jeans with the fly jeans once again proving the most popular pair of jeans of their range. G Star has shifted towards a much deeper wash colour on the jeans and the Outta range of jeans really do stand out as best jeans of the season. However it seems Stone Island has done little to develop their designer jeans range. They look poor in designs compared to Armani Jeans, Hugo Boss or G Star Raw Jeans and surprisingly for the premium product prices start at just £90.
